Trek Divers Seychelles were wonderful. I visited La Digue Island in the Seychelles in October this year. The weather was beautiful and sunny and warm. The water was a decent temperature for scuba diving. The people were friendly and the Island was a real community, with bicycles to get around, lots of beaches with lots of space. But I was there for the diving.
The crew of Trek Divers Seychelles was super friendly and helpful. They were very accommodating of all needs and requirements! The team attitude was great and the camaraderie of the group really made a huge difference making everyone feel comfortable and confident at all times.
The diving was incredible, they always chose the best spots based on weather, local reports of sightings and personal knowledge to give us the best experience. The boat was well cared for and looked after, very clean and tidy. The snacks and hot drinks provided really helped on those surface intervals too.
The Wildlife.
I was only there for a short time but managed to squeeze in 8 dives. We dived Marianne Island multiple times. The first dives there we saw turtles and got a brief glimpse of a Whale Shark although the visibility wasn’t great. Once we surfaced though we could still see it hanging around at the dive site so we did the same dive again hoping to see it the next day. We were lucky, if it wasn’t the same whale shark there the next day then there was a different one. It was super friendly and came right up to us and stayed around for a while. Even once we surface it stayed around the boat with us for our surface interval. After diving a little bit further along on the same site we glimpsed it again on our safety stop.
With Trek Divers Seychelles I also dived at Cheminee, Ave Maria, Albatross and the Sisters. As well as seeing multiple whale sharks, or was it one whale shark multiple times? We also saw turtles, reef sharks, lots of beautiful reef fish, a school of mobular rays, an eagle ray and sting rays.
Trek Divers Seychelles are super eco-friendly too. We collected some fishing net that was smothering the reef at one dive site. On top of this the staff were great at encouraging wildlife safe interactions under the water, especially with the whale sharks we kept seeing.
La Digue Island, Seychelles.
La Digue was a great island. Cycling around to explore the different beaches, juice bars and cafe’s was great! With most of the travel around the island by bicycle the atmosphere was so friendly with everyone saying hi and helping each other out. This also contributed to me feeling much happier with the environmental impact I was having, by cycling I could reduce my pollution as much as possible.
